Womanly Complaint

Okay men, consider yourselves warned. I am about to talk about woman issues.
One really annoying thing that I have discovered since getting sick is for one reason or another, covid has made my periods worse.
First, they don’t have any regularity anymore. I never see it coming and sometimes, I have two cycles in a month.
The flow is also worse. And the pain is terrible. Yesterday, my period hit. I spent most of the afternoon writhing in pain despite taking pain pills.
I’m also restricted on what pain pills I can take because I am on blood thinners. So, that doesn’t make it any easier.
My cycle also seems to make my other symptoms worse. The day or two around the beginning of my cycle seem to be as bad as the days that I over-exert myself.
I’m exhausted, nauseous, confused, achy. Also, my appetite is shot. Granted, PMS can cause some of these things independently. So, it’s hard to say what is doing what. But then again, that’s the problem with covid overall.
It harms but it also makes it easier for other diseases to harm you too.
Of course, when I first started having these issues, I thought it was just coincidence. But, as I got more involved with support groups, I discovered many more like me.
Many woman are reporting reproductive issues. Some say that they had issues where menopause seems to have struck early. Some say they were in menopause and strangely started bleeding again. Others report being like me.
For me, it’s just another reason to hate my period. I don’t think any woman specifically looks forward to their cycle. But now I loathe mine.
